Lately, I’ve been having a hard time following my task list and agenda for the day. Even though I worked early and finished late, I don’t feel as if I’ve accomplished anything significant. I may have been busy working all day but it seems like there’s no progress on high priority projects and goals.
It’s been 10 days since I started my journey to self-improvement. #Project365 has been successful so far, but yesterday I missed one post on this blog. NO, I didn’t miss it on purpose nor did I procrastinate. I have a very good reason. I normally stick to my routine but yesterday was an exception.
It’s 10:30pm and I just got back got home. With only 2 hours of sleep, I could barely come up with a decent paragraph for this post. I’m fighting the urge to reach for more caffeine. I initially thought that working longer hours will get all my task list completed, but, to be honest, I feel defeated. Your body can only take so much and no matter how you force yourself to be productive, your mind and system need to recuperate. Here’s the lesson I learned, it is possible to get more done in a day without feeling overwhelmed. Here are some tips:
- Be grateful. Sometimes it’s easier to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we already have. Take a time out and remember all of the things to be thankful for that many of us take for granted. You’re alive today, that’s more than enough reason to be grateful.
- Smile and say “Thank You” as often as you could. When someone holds a door for you or when the lady at the coffee shop serves your drink – just say thank you and smile. Do it always and you’ll make that person’s day a little bit better.
It’s been a week since I started #Project365. I can’t believe I have written 7 blog post in a row, and never missed out on my daily exercise (pat myself on the back). I can’t even finish one post in two months before this project happened.
You see, the main purpose of doing this project is to motivate me and you to do and create something each day. But sometimes sticking with a goal is never easy. No matter how hard you try to change something in your lives or habits, there will come a time that you will get side-tracked. Life sometimes gets in the way and disrupt your goals. Remember that new year’s resolution you created? Did you complete it? I know I didn’t. So if you’re like me and you find yourself easily distracted and out of focus then read on.
